Our School

Viola Desmond is a new school in north Ajax that opened in September 2018.  The school is a very innovative and spacious design with 3 common student areas, joining classrooms and a large learning commons that includes a Makerspace.  The focus at our school is to “Do things the Desmond Way” just like Viola Desmond the inspirational Canadian civil rights icon and entrepreneur that it is named after.

Viola Desmond Public School is designated as a walking school.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s experience at school, begin by contacting your child's teacher through Remind, email or phone call.  The office can be contacted at 905-619-7400.  We ask you to call the school with questions and to book any appointments that may be required.
